The 11th Largest Economy in the World

According to the Kauffman Report on MIT’s entrepreneurial impact, in 2009 there were 5,800 then currently active companies founded by MIT alumni that employed about 3.3 million people and generated annual world sales of $2 trillion, producing the equivalent of the eleventh-largest economy in the world.

Great Dome Principals Have Been Actively Engaged in Ecosystem Development

A necessary condition for an innovation ecosystem is a technology engine.  MIT certainly has that but so do many other universities in the U.S. and around the world.  What makes MIT unique is the surrounding ecosystem that brings that technology to market.  This includes entrepreneurship, technology commercialization expertise, mentoring and connections to larger companies.  Great Dome Associates principals have been actively involved in all stages of this supporting ecosystem at MIT.  We have also worked and consulted on these topics with corporations and with national, regional, state and local governments in the U.S. and around the world.
