Bridging the Innovation Gap

SearchforMarket
The main mission of corporate venture capital groups is to bridge the innovation gap increasingly faced by large organizations as innovation cycles have accelerated and as innovation increasingly occurs at the intersections of traditional technology areas – e.g, “lab on a chip” at the intersections of genomics/proteomics, microfluidics and microprocessors.

The need to bridge the innovation gap is due not only to the accelerating pace of innovation and the technical streams that are driving the complexity but also, and probably more important, to the conscious decision of the large companies to outsource the early stages of the innovation pipeline.

Great Dome Associates principals have worked on both sides of the innovation gap, starting and growing companies and scouting for acquisition targets.  Our extensive networks in the university, startup and corporate worlds put us at the intersection of activity.
